Ever Vail accepted into green program
Vail, CO Colorado
VAIL ” Vail Resorts’ Ever Vail project planned for West Lionshead has been officially accepted into the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design neighborhood pilot program, Vail Resorts said.
Condos, a hotel, offices, stores, restaurants, a gondola and a parking garage are planned for the $1 billion “green” village.
The LEED neighborhood program encourages high-density, pedestrian-oriented neighborhoods, embracing concepts known as “new urbanism” and “smart growth.”
All of the buildings within the development will also aim for LEED certification, Vail Resort Chief Executive Officer Rob Katz said in March.
The project is scheduled to start in 2009 and be completed by 2012.
