VAIL — The Vail Summer Bluegrass Series begins today with the Everyone Orchestra playing a rare bluegrass set at the Arrabelle at Vail Square.

Everyone Orchestra conductor Matt Butler has been leading a rotating cast of accredited musicians through full-length shows that are entirely improvised since 2001. He has taken participants, both on stage and off, on journeys with the most diverse of lineups at festivals, theaters and philanthropic events both nationally and internationally.

“The experience of playing with different musicians, improvising every night, and getting the crowd involved in ways that they can’t be at a regular show has provided an unparalleled live music experience,” Butler said.

Other collaborators

Joining Butler for this concert are Chris Pandolfi, of Infamous Stringdusters; Bridget Law, of Elephant Revival; Mimi Naja and Tyler Thompson, of Fruition; Jay Starling, of Love Canon; and Tyler Grant and Adrian Engfer, of Grant Farm. Opening the evening will be Dr. Harlan’s Amazing Bluegrass Tonic of Denver.

Other artists in the summer lineup include Darrell Scott on July 6, Sara Watkins on July 13 and Head for the Hills on July 20. The Vail Summer Bluegrass Series will also once again be working with the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens to present Bluegrass in the Gardens. Taking place from 1 to 2 p.m. on show days, Bluegrass in the Gardens will feature the Vail Bluegrass artists in an extremely intimate setting.

The town of Vail, Antlers at Vail, the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens, Bonfire Brewing, 10th Mountain Whiskey and others sponsor the Vail Summer Bluegrass Series. For more information, visit http://www.vailbluegrass.com.
