FAC for Africa taking place in Edwards Friday

A special fundraiser for the Africa Yoga Project is slated for Friday at Zino Ristorante in Edwards. FAC for Africa will take place on the patio with yoga led by Rachel DeLong and Bobby L’Heureux from 4 to 5 p.m., followed by happy hour, a silent auction, a raffle and a bocce ball tournament until 7:30 p.m. The suggested donation is $15. In July, DeLong and her 11-year-old son, Sutton, will embark on a service trip to Kenya with Africa Yoga Project. They will work on a service project in the slums of Nairobi and travel to rural Kenya to serve at Flying Kites Orphanage and school. Part of their commitment to the trip is to raise $6,000 for Africa Yoga Project, which empowers lives and numerous communities through yoga, and also provides jobs to the youth.

“When I traveled to Kenya in 2012, I saw firsthand the enormous impact that Africa Yoga Project is making on communities. They are giving hope and possibility where there wasn’t any. I am so excited to give my son the opportunity to go and serve in Kenya. I know it’s going to be the trip of a lifetime for him and for us,” DeLong said.
