Familiar face, new scenes
Local artist Tom Torge has a show up at the Vail Library through May 15 in the Community Room. A painter and carver, Torge is prolific. Everything in the exhibit is new work, which mostly consists of landscapes and a few figures. There are 17 paintings, oils all. Though Vail is where he’s made him home for many years – and avid angler, Torge loves being outside – New York has become a profitable venue for him. Discover New York, a gallery outside of Manhattan, has been carrying his work since last winter. The gallery owner made prints of one of his paintings, and it’s been popular with buyers.
The show is free to the public and the room is open during normal library hours.
