VAIL, Colorado – The town of Vail Public Library will provide a festive celebration with caroling, puppets, holiday crafts, treats and a visit from Santa Claus at the annual Family Fireside Holiday Party on Wednesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
“This is the event that the staff here at the library look forward to all year,” said Lori Ann Barnes, town librarian. “We welcome the families of local children and guests to come dressed in holiday finery and pose for photos with Santa.”
Children will be able to decorate cookies, as well as take part in other holiday projects.
“It is the eighth night of Chanukah and we’ll have lights, songs, and maybe we’ll even dance the hora,” Barnes said.
Parents are advised to bring a camera and to keep the Santa’s visit a surprise, as the evening begins prior to Santa’s arrival with a special story time designed just for the little ones.
There are a lot of activities to keep children busy as they wait to speak to Santa. Numbers will be issued to avoid families having to wait in line for extended periods for their opportunity to sit in Santa’s lap. The event is free. Light refreshments will be served. Call 970-479-2179 for more information or visit http://www.vaillibrary.com.
