Family spends stranded night near top of Grand Mesa
Grand Junction CO, Colorado
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. ” Mesa County Search and Rescue team members this morning reached a family of four ” including two children ” who spent a stranded night in a truck near the top of Grand Mesa.
The family’s truck had apparently become stuck in a snowbank sometime Sunday on Lands End Road, roughly 4 miles from the top of Grand Mesa, according to sheriff’s spokeswoman Heather Benjamin.
They were reached in good condition Monday morning after one member of the stranded party hiked down, found cell phone service and called authorities.
The family wasn’t immediately identified. Benjamin said they had recently moved to the Grand Valley.
