FBI: 3 Denver-area banks robbed Monday
DENVER, Colorado – FBI spokesman Dave Joly says three Denver-area banks have been robbed.
The robberies occurred in a three-hour period Monday.
The suspect in a robbery at 12:05 p.m. at an Aurora bank gave the teller a note saying he had a bomb. Joly says the robber was a young black man wearing a brown hooded jacket and with tattoos on his neck and hands.
The bank was also robbed Dec. 16.
Joly says around the same time, a white man with a mustache , an orange baseball cap and tan jacket entered an Arvada bank and demanded money.
And shortly after 3 p.m., a woman with dark hair, a dark jacket and white gloves robbed a bank on East Hampden Avenue in Denver. Joly says a black man wearing a beanie appeared to be with her.
Joly says there have been 199 bank robberies so far this year in Colorado, compared with 135 last year.
