Feedback sought on old Battle Mountain school

EAGLE COUNTY, Colorado – Residents will have another chance to weigh in on the fate of the old Battle Mountain High School building in Eagle-Vail, Colorado.

Eagle County, Colorado, school officials will solicit feedback on turning the building into a pre-kindergarten through eighth-grade school.

They plan presentations on the topic at three upvalley government meetings, beginning today. Forms will be available for people to fill out with their opinions on the concept.

Presentations are planned for:

• 3 p.m. today: joint meeting of the Eagle-Vail Metropolitan District and the Eagle-Vail Property Owners Association, Eagle-Vail golf course clubhouse, Eagle-Vail.

• 4 p.m. Oct. 20: Presentation before Vail town council, municipal building, Vail

• 7:15 p.m. Oct. 21: Minturn town council meeting, municipal building, Minturn

School Board Vice President Connie Kincaid-Strahan said she hopes the school board will make a decision on the pre-K through eighth-grade school on Oct. 28. She expects cost estimates for the project to be ready then.
