Ferraro served Avon well
A look around the town of Avon these days reveals that an exciting transformation is underway. The past four years have been a uniquely productive period for the Avon Town Council. Following extensive input from the citizens of Avon, the town has begun implementing a much-needed comprehensive plan by breaking ground on Avon’s new Main Street, aimed at creating a cohesive, inviting and energetic town core.
New bike paths are in place in Wildridge, on Eaglebend Drive, and along the Eagle River. The Westin Riverfront is now open, significantly improving Avon’s vibrancy and tax base. Nottingham Park is slated for improvements, which will make the park more attractive and user-friendly.
Beginning in 2009, we will see new public gathering spaces downtown highlighted with art, fountains, and landscaping. Additionally, the town of Avon is at the forefront of energy efficiency, employing wind power and hybrid vehicles.
Incumbent Councilwoman Kristi Ferraro has provided steady and balanced leadership for our town since 2004. She is seeking re-election to ensure that the community’s vision is successfully implemented and that the town’s various ongoing projects are indeed executed.
Kristi Ferraro has proven to be a true citizen advocate. Her tenure has been characterized by fiscal responsibility, accessibility, stewardship of Avon’s open space, park and recreational opportunities, and leadership in developing public and private sector collaboration. Her experience and expertise as an attorney and CPA have proven instrumental in the council’s ability to move forward on its diverse projects.
We are grateful to have someone with Kristi Ferraro’s intelligence, integrity, creativity, and dedication representing the citizens of Avon. We confidently endorse Kristi Ferraro for re-election to Avon Town Council.
