Final Lionshead Saturday Afternoon Club Saturday
VAIL, Colorado – The final Lionshead Saturday Afternoon Club for the summer will take place this Saturday and should not be missed. For one final afternoon, Lionshead Village will be completely overtaken by a variety of fun free activities guaranteed to delight kids of all ages and provide entertainment for the entire family! From 3 to 6 p.m. each week families can enjoy kids’ arts and crafts projects, face painting, hula hoops, a water balloon toss, a pizza tossing competition, a gigantic inflatable obstacle course, the Raptor Rendezvous, and new this year, the Lionshead Kids’ Discovery Zone.
During the Raptor Rendezvous program the Denver-based Raptor Education Foundation (REF) will feature raptors such as Eagles, Hawks, Falcons and Owls, allowing those in attendance to get a rare close look at some of the planet’s most magnificent birds. This two-hour educational program will make its final debut this Saturday, from 3 to 5 p.m., located on the grassy lawn adjacent to the Eagle Bahn Gondola. The REF requests that all dogs please be left at home.
New the Lionshead Kids’ Discovery Zone is a fun and educational area designed for families to enjoy learning something new about their world together. This week the Discovery Zone will feature an educational exhibit entitled “Green Planet Kids Expo,” produced in cooperation with the town of Vail’s Environmental Sustainability Department. At the Green Planet Expo kids will learn how our planet works and how we can help it to thrive in the future. They’ll meet a family of worms who are the “Heroes of the Compost Pile,” and learn about the process of recycling and how it uses products at the end of their useful life to create something new.
