‘Fire and Ice’

Special to the Daily/Steven FrewDerek McAlister of Fire and Ice brings new meaning to the term "hot head" outside the ice skating rink on the Beaver Creek Plaza. He and Matthew Marais perform as a duo every Thursday until the end of March. The show starts at the resort's glow-stick ski down and fireworks around 6:30 p.m. and then moves to the plaza around 7 p.m. The show features Poi spinning " a Maui art developed in New Zealand many years ago " fire juggling and staff spinning. Gags, jokes, comedy and good ol' fashion street theater can be expected, too. It lasts about 20-30 minutes and cameras are welcome. For more information, call 845-9090.
