An early morning fire destroyed Western Slope Laundry in Eagle today.

According to Eagle Police Chief Rodger McLaughlin, the blaze was reported around 2:30 a.m. The business is located at 0755 Swatch Road in the Eagle Commercial Park.

The blaze gutted the building’s interior and caused extensive damage to the roof. The only injury reported was an employee who sustained a leg injury fleeing from the building.

The origin and cause of the fire is unknown at this time. The investigation of the fire scene will not begin until the fire cools, likely later this afternoon. The Colorado Bureau of Investigation’s crime lab will assist the Eagle Police and local fire officials in determining the cause of the fire.

The fire loss is estimated in the multi-million-dollar range. Western Slope Laundry is a commercial laundry operation that employs approximately 25 people.
