Fire destroys three structures north of Gypsum

GYPSUM — Three structures at a property in the remote Trail Gulch area north of Gypsum are considered a "complete loss" after a fire early Saturday.
At about 2:30 a.m., Vail dispatch received a report of flames in the area.
When emergency responders arrived on scene at 3730 Trail Gulch Road, they found three structures fully engulfed in flames, with the fire threatening several other structures at the property.
Crews worked to prevent the spread of the fire to nearby wildland, utilizing six water tenders from Gypsum.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. As of Saturday afternoon, the fire was contained and crews were planning to monitor the area through the evening for hot spots.
The Eagle County Sheriff's Office, Gypsum Fire Protection District, Greater Eagle Fire Protection District, Eagle River Fire Protection District, Eagle County Emergency Management, the town of Gypsum and Eagle County Paramedic Services responded to the fire.
