Firefighters battling Boulder blaze
BOULDER, Colorado ” Authorities have requested an air tanker to battle a wildfire just west of Boulder.
Rocky Mountain Coordination Center spokesman Steve Segin says the single engine air tanker has flown in from Fort Collins north of Boulder. The Boulder Daily Camera is reporting that officials say they expect to have the fire under control in an hour and no structures are being threatened.
Boulder fire officials say up to 120 firefighters are working on the blaze that is still under two acres.
Boulder Fire spokeswoman Sarah Huntley says the fire is burning on grassland.
Bystanders say the smoke is filling the far end of the city, near the west end of Pearl Street. Authorities say the blaze started in Settlers Park Sunday afternoon and spread west.
