Fly fishing clinic planned in Eagle
Vail, CO Colorado
EAGLE, Colorado – The Eagle River Watershed Council plans a free fly casting clinic on June 30. The event is set for 5 p.m. at Brush Creek Park in Eagle.
Members of the Eagle Valley Trout Unlimited’s board of directors will teach participants fishing skills. Aquatic Biologist Kendall Ross Bakich of the Colorado Division of Wildlife will speak briefly about the threat of invasive species, such as Zebra mussels, to the rivers. Organizers will provide free gear cleaning to help fishermen protect their ecosystems from those species. Fisherman Ken Neubecker will involve kids and adults in finding and identifying the bugs that live in the rivers. Participants can meet up at 5 p.m. by the river near the Brush Creek Pavilion in Eagle for refreshments.
