For kids only: calling all drama queens and kings
BEAVER CREEK – Almost two decades later and hundreds of laughing kids, the Beaver Creek Children’s Theatre Company is offering Children’s Theatre Workshops. Open to kids ages 5 to 12, these four-day workshops include instruction in all areas of theatrical production and creative dramatics. Participants explore their imagination, create characters, learn more about theatre, all while building a show from scratch. Not to mention the kids have a lot of fun, organizers said.On the final day of each workshop, children will star in a live performance open to the public with the adult members of the Beaver Creek Children’s Theatre Company on the Beaver Creek plaza. “We really enjoy introducing children to the fun and creativity of theatre,” said Brian Hall, director of the theater company. “It is a lot of fun for us to see their self-confidence grow and to develop friendships with some great kids.” Kids also receive a Beaver Creek Children’s Theatre T-shirt and a certificate of achievement with a cast photo. The dates of the workshops are July 11-14 and July 25-28. Both sessions run from 9 a.m.-noon with a cost of $185 per child. The drop off location is at the Beaver Creek Children’s Museum.
