The driver of a Chevrolet Suburban had signalled for a right turn and suddenly veered left into Wegert’s Triumph Spitfire, a vintage English sports car. The left front of the Suburban caught the right front of Wegert’s car.Florio said the driver of the Suburban was ticketed for careless driving causing injury. Drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the crash, but the accident remains under investigation.Wegert and his wife, Valerie, live in Minturn. He has served on the Minturn Town Council and is currently a member of the Eagle River Water and Sanitation District Board of Directors. He also is a board member of the Swift Eagle Foundation.
