A former U.S. Treasury Department counsel and White House counsel with Ronald Reagan will discuss the U.S. economy Wednesday.

Peter Wallison will talk about the nation’s economic future during a lunch meeting at Daniel’s Bistro in Arrowhead.

Wallison, with the American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy, was part of last weekend’s AEI World Forum. The annual event brings together global government and business leaders for private, roundtable discussions of world events.

Wallison was general counsel of the Treasury Department, White House counsel to President Reagan, special assistant to New York Gov. Nelson A. Rockefeller, and Rockefeller’s counsel when he became vice president.

Wallison is the author of several books, including “Ronald Reagan: The Power of Conviction and the Success of His Presidency.” He is a frequent contributor to the op-ed pages of The New York Times, Wall Street Journal and Washington Post.

The event begins at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday and costs $16, including lunch. For more information, call 926-2111.
