Former Vail PTA president joins school board
Vail, CO Colorado
VAIL, Colorado –School officials appointed Vail resident Kate Cocchiarella to the Eagle County School Board Wednesday night.
The seat opened up in March when Mark Conlin resigned.
Cocchiarella, 43, has two children, including a daughter in third grade at Vail’s Red Sandstone Elementary and a son who is a freshman at Vail Mountain School.
“I’m very happy to be working with the board to help them make the decisions that need to be made before the next election,” she said.
Cocchiarella is a former Parent Teacher Association president at Red Sandstone. She sits on that school’s accountability committee and previously served on the district accountability committee.
Her term lasts through November 2011. Three candidates interviewed for the job. The seat covers district B, which includes parts of Vail and Minturn.
