VAIL — Forre Fine Art Gallery in Vail presents “Measuring Up,” a group exhibition with works by three artists. Artists Paul Gerben, Steve Hix and Tim Yankosky will be at the opening reception on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibit is on display through July 11.

Throughout history and across the world, the notion of “measuring up” has ranged in its connotation to connect artists, musicians, politicians, scientists and mathematicians to broad business and economic concepts, as well as the romantic and emotional world.

All three artists have addressed the theme beautifully in a variety of media including photography, abstracts on paper/panel and vintage measuring tapes on panel.

The group show was organized to allow all three artists the opportunity to tell their stories; including a journey that includes a sale of a stock photography company to Bill Gates to being a creative director who produced logos and branding for IBM, Ford Models and various Fortune 500 companies; to redefining the celebrity portrait and creating art from found objects.

The gallery is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., as well as by appointment. Call 970-476-0999 to learn more. The gallery is located at 141 E. Meadow Drive, Suite 203, on the second level of Solaris in Vail.
