VAIL — They’ve been a signature sound in the mountain scene for years, and now the Freddy Jones Band will bring their hits – old and new – to the Moe’s Original BBQ ShowDown Town free concert series, presented by the Vail Valley Foundation, the Town of Eagle, and Bonfire Brewing Thursday at 6:30 at the Eagle Town Park. This will be the final concert of the 2015 season.

“Just like the grand finale at a fireworks show, we wanted to close out this season’s free concert series with a big, colorful bang,” said the Vail Valley Foundation’s Tommy Boyd. “We’ve been looking forward to the Freddy Jones Band all summer, and we’re extremely fired up to have them come to the Town of Eagle this Thursday to close out a great year for the Moe’s Original BBQ ShowDown Town free concert series.”

The Freddy Jones Band are roots-rock specialists in the tradition of groups like the Eagles, The Band and The Allman Brothers. Their influences stretch across the archives of musical history. Their sound is a blend of blues, rock and folk music.

Labeled as the “Darlings of Triple A Radio,” Freddy Jones Band has a storied history in the format. With two number one hits and several top 10s, the Chicago roots band has strummed its way to the forefront of the national music scene. Staying true to breezy melodic lyrics and echo acoustic guitar they’ve come to be known for, the band released a new single this year and has hit the road with new music.

Music begins at Eagle Town Park at 6:30 p.m. along with children’s activities, and food and beverage options. Concert-goers are welcome to bring their own coolers and folding chairs, and food vendors will be offering food for sale as well. New this year, Bonfire Brewing will be offering on-site public beer sales. For more information, see
