Free film screening in Avon Wednesday

AVON – The public is invited to attend a free screening of the documentary film “Waiting for Superman” at 6 p.m. on Wednesday at the Avon Public Library.

From Davis Guggenheim, the Academy Award-winning Director of “An Inconvenient Truth,” comes a feature documentary film that provides an engaging look at public education in the United States. “Waiting for Superman” has helped launch a movement to achieve a real and lasting change through the compelling stories of five unforgettable students such as Emily, a Silicon Valley 8th-grader who is afraid of being labeled as unfit for college and Francisco, a Bronx first-grader whose mom will do anything to give him a shot at a better life. “Waiting for Superman” will leave a lasting and powerful impression that you will want to share with your friends and family.

Now Showing @ EVLD offers free film screenings throughout the year. For a complete schedule of upcoming films, visit the Eagle Valley Library District’s website at http://www.evld.org. All film screenings are free and open to the public. Films may not be appropriate for all audiences.
