Free, outdoor screening of ‘The Lorax’ Friday in Vail

VAIL — The colorful world of Dr. Seuss bursts into Vail today in the hilarious and captivating adventure “The Lorax,” from Universal Studios Home Entertainment.

The town of Vail invites everyone to attend this free, environmentally-themed, family-friendly movie in the outdoor tent in Vail Square at Arrabelle in Lionshead beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Dr. Seuss’ “The Lorax” transports viewers into a fantastical landscape imagined by Dr. Seuss and vividly brought to life by Chris Meledandri and his acclaimed filmmaking team at Illumination Entertainment (“Despicable Me”). One of the best-selling children’s book authors of all time, Theodor Seuss Geisel, aka Dr. Seuss, named “The Lorax” his favorite work, and is included on the Educator’s All Time Top 20 List of Children’s Books

Local experts will also be on hand from the town and the Eagle River Watershed Council to introduce themselves and provide a quick five minute video, “A Ride Through the Storm Drain” as a preview to the movie and a reminder to all of us to protect one of our most precious resources, Gore Creek.
