Free rocks available in West Vail
July 8, 2010
VAIL, Colorado – The town of Vail is inviting residents in need of landscape materials to stop by the West Vail Fire Station construction site on the North Frontage Road on Saturday for a free giveaway of river rock and about a dozen used landscape timbers. The material will be available to residents on a first-come, first-served basis between 8 a.m. and noon.
The river rock ranges in size from 3 inches to 3 feet in diameter. Recipients of the landscape material are asked to bring gloves, shovels, wheel barrows and any other self-help equipment needed to remove the items from the construction site.
A second pick up day will be scheduled for July 17 if supplies remain.
Construction of the fire station will continue throughout the summer with completion scheduled for January or February 2011. For more information, call Fire Chief Mark Miller at 477-3474.
