Vail, CO, Colorado
Special to the DailyDaddy Blue plays the ShowDown Town concert Thursday in Eagle at 6.

EAGLE ” Mark Brier is Daddy Blue ” a rocker with a sound akin to Billy Joel or Elton John, rich on the keys and heavy with the beat. He brings his ivory-driven rock to the stage in Eagle Town Park Thursday as the ShowDown Town free summer concert series continues.

With a style mixing old-school jazz, blues and piano swing, “Daddy Blue” has earned a devoted and varied fan base across the state. He pulls inspiration from the piano rocking greats ” Billy Joel, Harry Connick Jr. and Jerry Lee Lewis, among others. The result is a soulful stage presence and a piano-man’s rapport with the audience.

The show begins at 6:30 p.m. today in Eagle Town Park. Last year’s series featured a new stage courtesy of the Town of Eagle. The start of this year’s Showdown Town coincides with the completion of Town Park Phase II improvements which include an entry plaza for people to gather, new trees and a pathway connecting 5th Street to 6th Street through the park. There will also be a new “boulder play area” for kids of all ages to play on. The improvements, coupled with the great array of kids activities at each show, truly make this a weekly family event.
