Free Winter Teva Mountain Games concerts announced
VAIL – After a day of on-snow adventures at the first annual Winter Teva Mountain Games in Vail Feb. 10-12, the free Mountains of Music concerts will take place Friday and Saturday nights starting at 7:30 p.m.Don your fluorescent one-piece ski suit and Moon Boots to rock out with the ultimate new wave ’80s band, The Spazmatics on Feb. 10. The band is known for killer guitar riffs, hair-band vocals and radical robot dancing. The California-based cover band is an energetic bounce back in time.On Feb. 11, take in the action of various Winter Teva Mountain Games events for pros and amateurs, from the Eddie Bauer Boot Run to the Teva Best Trick Bike and Thule Telemark Big Air. Then cap the day with Theophilus London’s performance at Golden Peak at 7:30 p.m. This alternative hip-hop artist’s genre-bending approach to music-making draws from a range of styles including hip hop, soul-pop, electro and contemporary R&B. Recent live shows have garnered critical acclaim as well as an international fan base. London’s hit, “Neighbors” will be featured on the “Breaking Dawn: Part 1” soundtrack, reaching an entirely new audience with his funky rhythms and new urban melodies.Registration for competitions opens Nov. 18 and a full program of events is available at http://www.tevamountaingames.com.
