Front Range girls named as crash victims

WOLCOTT — A single vehicle accident killed two Front Range girls and injured two other children and an adult female Monday afternoon.

The victims are two girls: Autum Garza, 14, and Hannaleigh Figaszewski, 9, both from the Front Range. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Three others were injured, two children and an adult female. They were transported to the Vail Valley Medical Center with moderate injuries, said Trooper Nate Reid, public information officer with the Colorado State Patrol.

At 4 p.m. Monday, the 1998 BMW SUV in which they were riding was eastbound on I-70 between Eagle and Wolcott, when it went off the road on the left side of the highway, and started rolling, Reid said. The vehicle reentered the roadway, skidding sideways before colliding with a wildlife fence. The vehicle rolled over one time.

Driver Jenny Figaszewski, of Fontana, Calif., was taken to the Vail Valley Medical Center with serious injuries.

A 8-year-boy and a 5-year-old girl were also transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

All occupants were unrestrained, Reid said.
