Ft. Collins’ sees 1st slaying in 2 years
FORT COLLINS, Colo. ” The stabbing death of a 19-year-old man over the weekend was believed to be the first slaying in this northern Colorado city in two years.
Joseph Michael Martell died Sunday after he was found outside an apartment building at about 3 a.m. with two stab wounds, at least one of them in his chest, police said.
Police arrested Adrian Danelle Allen, 24, about six hours later for investigation of first-degree murder.
Police Lt. Hal Dean said Allen and Martell apparently met Saturday night and went to Allen’s apartment where they began drinking.
The most recent previous slaying was the July 2005 death of Dorothy May Preece, 43, whose body was found buried in Poudre Canyon. Wade Burkham was convicted in December of that year of second-degree murder.
