Full Moon Madness hits State Bridge
The full moon marks a time of birth and rebirth – the end of one cycle and the beginning of another. Today, State Bridge Lodge is throwing down the beats to celebrate just that.
Full Moon Madness is a showcase for local DJs put together by Lou Wilson. Featuring an arsenal of home-grown talent, the event is all about having fun. The party kicks off at 8 p.m. with DJ Just Ben spinning 92 beats per minute. DJs Parris and Pippen follow next, each playing hip-hop sets to get the party going. DJ Louis Benjamin closes the night with a “classic, funky, progressive house” set. A few special guest MCs may be in the works as well.
Wilson, (a.k.a DJ Lou Benjamin), who formerly held a residency at Nick’s after the departure of Daryl Fox in 1998, wanted to put together a night reminiscent of the once vibrant dance scene in the valley. State Bridge was a natural choice for a full moon show, given the outdoor setting and laid-back vibe.
“I spun there a couple of years ago and it was a great time,” Wilson said. The local organizer would like to see Full Moon Madness become an annual event.
The event is free and the lodge is open all day.
