Fun Run set for Sunday in Vail

VAIL — Gather the kids, stretch the legs and enjoy a morning of friendly competition at the annual Vail Summit Orthopedics Oktoberfest Fun Run benefitting the Children’s Garden of Learning on Sunday in Vail Village.

The Vail-Summit Orthopaedics Oktoberfest Fun Run will begin promptly at 9 a.m. on Sunday morning at Check Point Charlie on Gore Creek Dr. in Vail Village. The course will run along a similar route as it has in years past, heading east from the start through Vail Village toward the Vail Golf Course and finishing back at Check Point Charlie.

Event categories include a 5K run/walk and a kids’ 1K in which strollers are welcome. Adult registration is $25 and kids are $10. Teams of 4 or more adults will receive a discounted entry fee of $20 but must register as a team on-site at the race. Registration is now open online at http://www.vailoktoberfest.com and will close at 5 p.m. Saturday. On-site registration and check in will take place from 8 to 8:45 a.m. on Sunday, the day of the Fun Run, and the event will get going promptly at 9 a.m. with a quick stretch and then our little runners take off on the 1k Fun Run. The 5k will follow quickly follow.



Children will receive a goody bag, with a sweatband for the race as well as a medal at the finish. There will be food, drinks and fun activities for the families.
