Fun safety day
On behalf of the Eagle County EMS Prevention Committee, I would like to thank the following agencies and businesses for their participation in the 911 Training Camp on July 25. Through their generosity we were able to provide 90 local youth with an opportunity to learn how to take control in a variety of emergency situations.
Avon Recreation Center, Eagle County Health Service District, Avon Police Department, Vail Police Department, Eagle River Fire Protection District, Vail Fire and Emergency Services, Vail Professional Firefighters Association, Local 4138, Greater Eagle Fire Protection District, Gypsum Fire Protection District, Vail Public Safety and Communications Center, Eagle County Sheriff’s Office, Colorado State Patrol, Flight For Life, Vail Valley Medical Center, Western Eagle County Ambulance District, Colorado Department of Transportation, St. Mary’s EMS Outreach Program, Western Eagle County Recreation District, Beaver Creek Children’s Theater and Vail Resorts all provided volunteers to host activities, act as group leaders and help support all the numerous tasks it takes to host an event of this size.
Eagle County is very fortunate to have such high quality emergency service agencies that can work as a team under difficult and sometimes tragic situations and also as friends and peers in a fun, community event like the 911 Training Camp.
Contributions from the Eagle County EMS and Public Safety Council, Peregrine Press, Eagle County School District, FirstBank of Vail, Vail Valley Foundation, Wendy’s Hamburgers, High Country Shirtworks, Vail Resorts, City Market, Vail Daily, Foto Finish, Vail Valley Community Television, Alpine Bank, Eagle County School District and Venture Sports in merchandise, food and monetary donations made the camp free for the children of our community.
Our goal to provide a “safety lesson” in a fun camp-style setting would not have been achieved without this type of community support for their youth.
