Funding available for Vail Valley students of performing arts

VAIL — The Vilar Guild, a volunteer organization, has the mission of increasing awareness and accessibility to performances at the Vilar Performing Arts Center as well as encouraging arts-related education. Last spring, the guild gave more than $3,000 to eight talented Eagle County students to participate in performing arts courses and projects this summer.

New Vilar Guild scholarships are now available for local students to experience the performing arts this fall/winter. Applications are due by Aug. 20 and awards will be made shortly thereafter. Eagle County residents (either the student or the student’s parent or teacher) should send the following information to khannold@vvf.org or by fax to 970-748-1396: Name of student, phone number, email address, age, along with a brief description of the program and its cost for which funding is requested and how the award will further the applicant’s pursuit of the performing arts. If the applicant is the parent or teacher, their name and contact information should also be included. For more information, call Tom or Marcia McCalden at 970-926-9326.
