The Battle Mountain High School dance team will be waiting tables at the Mustang Bar & Grill Friday, Nov. 11, from 6-10 p.m. The evening will be a fundraiser for the dance team, and all tips earned will be used to attend the National Dance Competition in Orlando, Fla. Reservations are recommended. Please call 926-7806. LostSusan lost her pocketbook in Wal-Mart parking lot on 10/26/05 in the afternoon. She would like to thank the person who picked it up to prevent it from being stolen. She is sure that the person has been trying desperately to find her to give her pocketbook back to her. Please give her a call at 376-4722 and she will be very grateful.Career fair comingThe Eagle Valley Rotary Club and the Eagle County School District will host the ninth annual career fair Tuesday, Nov. 1, 8:30 – 11 a.m .at Battle Mountain High School. The fair will introduce high school students to the opportunities that await them in the real world. More than 600 sophomores, juniors and seniors from Vail Mountain School, Eagle Valley and Battle Mountain High School are expected to attend.

More than 60 companies come to the fair to showcase their professions and provide a chance for a one-on-one conversations between students and professionals. Representatives will have brochures and other information about their careers or trades, and what education is required. Sponsors include the Eagle County School District, the Hyatt, Marriot, and Cascade Village hotels, Colorado Work Force, high school parent teacher associations and the Rotary Clubs of the Vail Valley, including Vail, Edwards and Eagle.’Navigating Middle School’Is the name of a Nov. 2 presentation at Berry Creek Middle School in Edwards.The presentation, which runs from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2, will feature a panel of experts giving advice about getting middle schoolers successfully through some difficult years.Panelists will talk about preventing substance abuse, finding appropriate activities for young teens, and other topics.

The event will be presented in both English and Spanish, and is sponsored by the Eagle River Youth Coalition, The Literacy Project and the Youth Foundation. For more information, call 926-3250…….
