Fundraiser for local Carol Nitz Wednesday in Edwards
EDWARDS, Colorado Long-time-local hairdresser, Carol Nitz fell and broke her ankle in two places on Jan. 3, 2009. For Nitz, that means she cant work since she is a hairdresser and owns her one-woman company, Hairafter.Many locals have banded together in an effort to keep Nitz going. On Wednesday there will be a benefit at Rick & Kellys American Bistro in Edwards beginning at 7 p.m. Event organizers encourage everyone to come to Rick & Kellys for a fun-filled evening, complete with a silent auction and a raffle. Wed like people to open their hearts and their pocketbooks, said Kathy Morrow, one of the event organizers. Donations can also be made in Nitzs name at any First Bank location. Live music will be provided by the Kathy Baxter Band, Les Femmes Fatales, Bob Finnie, Dave Andersen, Ken Carpenter and many more guest artists. For dinner reservations of eight or more, phone the restaurant at 970-926-3423.Nitz has lived and worked in the Vail Valley for 33 years. She has been involved in the western lifestyle including rodeos, living on a ranch and taking home state championship honors in western-style swing dancing competitions!Carol is the caretaker angel of the valley, Morrow said. Whenever there has been a need to provide for others, Carol is there! So mark your calendar for Wednesday at 7 p.m. and lets be there for Carol!
