Future business leaders descend on Vail
VAIL, Colorado Vail, Colorado hosted the annual Future Business Leaders of America state conference April 18-20, where 2,500 students, teachers, parents and school administrators attended you may have noticed the sharp contrast between students walking around town in their suits and locals donning funny costumes for Vails closing weekend. The students in Vail that weekend are some of the finest business students in Colorado. These students are all state qualifiers of FBLA, a program that helps students excel in business. They competed in more than 50 events, including accounting, public speaking, business issues, business plans and many more. More than 180 Colorado business students qualified for the national conference in Anaheim this summer.Competing was not the only event they fit in to their weekend. Leadership workshops were provided, such as safety on the Internet, the hazards of drinking and driving, how to make your message stick and how to build relationships for fun and profit. Training our students wasnt the only goal of these workshops and events. The March of Dimes mini walk raised more than $1,600 and the Colorado Relief Fund mini walk raised more than $1,800. FBLA would like to thank the Vail Cascade Resort and Spa, The Marriott Vail Mountain Resort & Spa, Antlers at Vail, Evergreen Lodge, Manor Vail and all of Vail and its local businesses for their support.
