Gas meters should be free of ice, snow.
Vail, CO Colorado
EAGLE COUNTY, Colorado ” Heavy snow means homeowners should routinely check their natural gas meters and clear away any buildups of ice or snow.
Blocked vents can lead to a buildup of natural gas inside homes or prevent the meter from working properly, interrupting the flow of gas. Homeowners should also clear snow and ice from the edges of roofs so nothing falls on the meter.
Gas meters should be cleaned with a broom, not a shovel.
