Genita Mayne, longtime Vail resident, died Nov. 1

VAIL, Colorado –Longtime Vail resident Genita Mayne passed away Nov. 1.

A former model, singer and avid skier, “Jan,” as she was known to family and friends, had recently moved to Reno, Nev.

Jan had been one of the early participants in the Vail ski community and was an avid participant with the arts, theater and music.



Genita is survived by former husband Edward P. Mayne Jr. of Michigan; daughters Dawn Wiens of Edwards and Michelle Mayne of Reno; and grandchildren Adrienne Wiens and Chris Wiens.

Services were held at Walden’s Funeral Home in Reno.
