Gifted education team kicks off speaker series

EDWARDS – The Gifted Education Team of Eagle County’s first lecture in its spring series is “Dialogue with Thinking Skills” with Dr. Janna Hugo on Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Berry Creek Middle School auditorium in Edwards.Hugo will talk about how to teach critical thinking skills and how teachers can use these methods in their classrooms. She also will have advice for parents who want to help their children develop critical thinking skills. Hugo has been a professor of education at the University of Phoenix, Colorado Campus, since 1990 and has directed studies online since 1998. Hugo is the university’s liaison board member for the Colorado Association for Gifted and Talented. She has served on the organization’s board for more than 10 years.The Gifted Education Team of Eagle County is the local affiliate of the Colorado Association for the Gifted and Talented.
