Gifts for Veterans Day

Daily staff report
Vail CO Colorado

In celebration of the upcoming Veteran’s Day national holiday Nov. 11, AmericInn of Eagle will host a special event to support America’s military members by preparing and shipping gift packages to troops deployed in Afghanistan, Iraq and other bases worldwide.

AmericInn of Eagle will be organizing donations, merchandise contributions and volunteers to prepare the care packages. The packages will contain gift items that are not readily accessible during overseas military deployment, including personal-care merchandise, clothing, food treats, magazines, games and stationary items.

Hotel staff will join community volunteers at AmericInn – located at 0085 Pond Road in Eagle – on Wednesday at 10 a.m. to assemble the packages. Anyone interested in helping out is welcome to make a donation or help prepare the gift packages.

“We are very pleased to join with AmericInn hotels across the country in organizing this community-based military support initiative that will provide special gift packages to American troops serving overseas in appreciation for their service,” said Paul Leto, general manager of AmericInn of Eagle.

AmericInn has sponsored several previous initiatives to support members of the military as part of an overall “AmericInn Cares” commitment to caring, involvement and patriotism. At the company’s 2011 Annual Convention earlier this year, AmericInn partnered with the national Blue Star Mothers organization to donate over 300 Personal Care Packages that were prepared and shipped overseas to active duty troops.

AmericInn also offers a national discount to active duty and retired members of the military and their dependents. Veterans can receive this discount by requesting the AmericInn Military Rate (rate code: MIL) when making a reservation at a hotel, or by calling the toll free telephone number 1-800-634-3444. A military I.D. is required at check-in.
