Girl dies after being hit by falling rock in Estes Park
ESTES PARK, Colorado – A 17-year-old girl from Michigan has died after being hit by a falling rock in Estes Park.
Audra Brownell of Sparta, was hit Thursday in a green space next to town hall. A cliff rises above the open space in the town that serves as the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park.
Town spokeswoman Kate Rusch says there were many witnesses and police are interviewing them as the investigate what happened.
The coroner has ruled the death accidental.
