Glenwood Springs bank robbery suspect still at large
Glenwood Springs, CO Colorado
GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado ” Police are asking the public for information about Monday’s bank robbery in West Glenwood Springs, Colorado.
The Alpine Bank was robbed of an undisclosed amount of money around 4:30 p.m. Two bank employees were present and no one was hurt.
Police said the suspect, whose grainy image is recorded on security camera footage, is a thin white male about 6-feet tall in his early 20s with distinctive light blue eyes.
The suspect handed a bank teller a note and displayed a semi-automatic pistol before leaving with an undisclosed amount of money, the Glenwood Springs Police Department said early Wednesday afternoon in a news release.
Glenwood Springs Chief of Police Terry Wilson said Wednesday that no one could offer any information about how the robber fled the scene or if he was driving a vehicle. Wilson said he wouldn’t release other details of the robbery, such as how much money was stolen, because doing so could hurt the ability to validate new information by comparing it to details known only to authorities.
The same Alpine Bank location was also robbed about 10 years ago.
The Ramada Inn in Glenwood Springs was also hit by an armed robbery weeks ago, but Wilson said there’s no reason to suspect the two are connected.
