Eagle Valley Christian Academy has a jam-up good middle school, and their leaders want to tell you all about it. The Eagle County Charter Academy Talent Show starts at 6:30 p.m. tonight at the Battle Mountain High School auditorium. For a mere $4 you can see amazing kids do incredible things for nothing more than your applause and appreciation. Call 926-0656.The band played onThe combined seventh- and eight-grade bands from Minturn Middle School and Berry Creek Middle School, under the direction of Bill Keathley, played for the Great American Parks Music Festival at Six Flags Elitch Gardens. The students, performing the pieces “Bryce Canyon Overture” by Jerry Williams and “Kiva: Rituals & Ceremonies” by Anne McGinty, earned the Gold Medal Award for their outstanding performance. Flute player Sean Pack also earned the Outstanding Soloist Award. Congratulations to these fine young musicians.Let’s get ready to rummageIt’s time for volunteers to head to Minturn’s Maloit Park to get started putting together the granddaddy of all garage sales, the 40th annual Eagle Valley Community Fund Auction and Rummage Sale. Earn money for your favorite nonprofit organization. Go there from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. today through Wednesday and Monday Memorial Day. Starting June 1, volunteer hours will be 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. They still need clean, useable items. Bring them to the Maloit Park location during those same hours.
