GOP worker calls 911 amid union confrontation
BRIGHTON, Colorado ” A Colorado Republican Party worker says union officials blocked him from leaving a town hall meeting with Democratic U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet and demanded that he erase his videotape of the event.
Matt Milner told The Denver Post he dialed 911 from the Adams County meeting Saturday because he feared for his safety.
Mike Cerbo, executive director of Colorado AFL-CIO, says Milner wasn’t forced to erase the tape or barred from leaving.
Cerbo says Milner was aggressive and tried to provoke a confrontation, though Cerbo declined to say how.
Adams County authorities confirmed Milner’s 911 call and say they’re investigating.
Milner was working as a Republican Party “tracker,” following and videotaping Bennet’s appearances.
