The second annual Backcountry Ball will be held on Dec. 16 from 7 to 11 p.m. at Vail Golf Club. It’s not only a fundraiser for continued educational and social programming by the Gore Range Gravity Alliance, but it’s also an opportunity for locals to change things up for a night and get a little fancy.

The nonprofit showcases that although women can be amazing skiers, bikers, talented and rugged outdoorswomen, they can also celebrate their femininity, and they’re also inviting the gents to dress up and celebrate. The 21+ fundraiser is open to everyone who is happy to leave their flannel at home and party for a good cause. Dance the night away with beats by DJ P-Rock; a long-time local favorite, with heavy appetizers by Moe’s Original BBQ and a new catering concept by the El Sabor and Garfinkel’s team, as well as Sundae artisan ice cream. Illegal Mezcal will provide free drinks, along with Vail Brewing Company and Red Bull.

These events intentionally have a social aspect to create an atmosphere where women can create long-lasting friendships and find backcountry adventure partners.

Vail Photo Booths will be on hand, so everyone can remember this night for years to come. Supporting businesses include Weston Backcountry, Cripple Creek Backcountry, Cal Topo, Pit Viper, Lakota Guides, Alpine Kind, Ski Town All-Stars, Local Revival, Craniologie, Purl Wax, The Fitz, The Sebastian, the Park Hyatt at Beaver Creek, Vail Mountain Coffee, Seagull’s Cycles, Chophouse, Vintage Magnolia, OTA Ops, and Red Bull whose donations and partnership will provide amazing giveaways, including skis or a snowboard.

The Gore Range Gravity Alliance Foundation is an Eagle County nonprofit that aims to bolster the community of women who recreate in the backcountry and on local trails by providing educational opportunities in topics such as navigation, safety, avalanche awareness, gear maintenance, and more. GRGA strives to create mentorship by working with local female experts to create environments where women are empowered to grow their knowledge base and skillset.

Backcountry Ball doors are at 7 p.m. and limited $50 tickets may be purchased at GiveButter.com/BCBALL23. For more information, visit GoreRangeGravityAlliance.com and follow @gorerangegravityalliance on Instagram.
