EAGLE ” Eagle Town Park will play host to Colorado’s largest live ’70s disco party Thursday evening, as local favorites Boogie Machine dish out the funk for the final installment of the ShowDown Town free concert series.
Back by popular demand after two years closing out the Street Beat winter concert series, Boogie Machine is a hands-down favorite among locals. The four-person disco sensation serves up the ’70s with a genuine style and an unstoppable energy.
Sporting enormous afros and outrageous ’70s getups, the band pumps out disco favorites like “Play That Funky Music,” “I Will Survive,” “Night Fever,” “Get Down Tonight” and more. Boogie Machine’s infectious music appeals to kids and adults alike ” audience members of all ages are encouraged to don their best disco attire to celebrate the season’s final ShowDown Town.
Whether a child of the ’70s or the ’90s, disco music has probably influenced you in one way or another. This dance-oriented pop music took the world by storm in the mid-’70s with its soaring vocals and heavy beat. From Donna Summer to The Jackson 5, The Bee Gees to the Village People, many careers were made during this era of “discotheques” and dance parties. Period movies such as “Saturday Night Fever” and “Xanadu” assure that the disco style will forever endure.
Boogie Machine takes the stage at Eagle Town Park today at 6:30 p.m. Now in its eighth season, ShowDown Town is a family event with a variety of kids activities complementing the great music performed on the Eagle Town Park stage.
