Gourmet on Gore Tasting Tour set for Friday in Vail

VAIL – A limited number tickets are still available for the Gourmet on Gore Tasting Tour, taking place on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. The Gourmet on Gore Tasting Tour is a benefit for Habitat for Humanity of Eagle and Lake Counties.

The tour is a new addition to the Gourmet on Gore schedule of events for 2012. Tickets for the Gourmet on Gore Tasting Tour are $90 and include savory appetizers and a signature beverage at each of the eight stops on the tour. Guests of the Gourmet on Gore Tasting Tour will receive a signature Gourmet on Gore gift bag that includes favors from select event sponsors. Gift bags will be given out at the Carrie Fell Gallery, where Fell will be on hand signing complimentary poster prints of “The Chefs Table” – the original artwork she created for Gourmet on Gore 2012. Fell will also be signing and handing out complimentary prints of “The Chefs Table” throughout the weekend at the Gourmet on Gore Open-Air Tasting. The original artwork for “The Chefs Table” will be on display at the Carrie Fell Gallery throughout Labor Day Weekend. Interested patrons are invited to bid on the piece, and a portion of the final sale will be donated to Habitat for Humanity.

Every location on the tour is sharing a unique tasting-size dish and signature beverage. Flame at the Four Seasons Resort of Vail will prepare housemade elk corn dogs and Sweet Basil plans to serve Borden Farm’s melon gazpacho. Yeti’s Grind will feature cupcakes from Batter Cupcakes in two flavors: fleur de sel and vanilla bean. At Betteridge, Bol will serve a traditional fall wedding punch in addition to three tasty bites: curried chickpeas with fresh pickles and papadum, spicy tuna tartare with sesame crackers and garlic garden snails with forest mushrooms. Attendees can expect these and much more during the Tasting Tour.

In addition to the Tasting Tour, guests are invited to Gourmet on Gore’s signature event, the open-air tasting, happening on Saturday, Sunday and Monday as well as a number of other new culinary and lifestyle events scheduled throughout the weekend.
