How they voted: Yes ” Menconi, Runyon, Stone

What this means to you: Fire districts based in Eagle, Gypsum, and Basalt, as well as the Western Eagle County Ambulance District, will be able to put a new fee on new construction in the county. The money will pay for new equipment and buildings.



What’s next: The districts will do a study to determine just what the fees will be. The districts and the county will then sign contracts. The county will collect the fees, then give the money to the districts.

How they voted: Yes ” Menconi, Runyon No ” Stone

What this means to you: Menconi and Runyon agreed with county planners that is was too early for the applicant, 84 Lumber, to ask for an exemption on the county’s ban on new subdivisions. Stone disagreed.



What’s next: 84 Lumber will probably apply again when its application to build a wholesale lumber yard on 10 acres near Dotsero is farther along in the county approval process.
