June 15: The Town Council is asking for public input about Crave Community Co. developing Battle Mountain at its next scheduled meeting in Town Hall at 6:30 p.m.

Issue: Main Street pedestrian and bike path plan update.
Who they talked to: Michelle Hansen, senior transportation engineer for Stolfus & Associates Inc., the company leading the engineering process.
What they talked about: After the council approved Stolfus & Associated as the lead engineer company in April, Hansen returned with more conceptual plans and options for a bike and pedestrian path through town. The three-phase project includes stretches from Toledo Avenue to Cemetery Road; Cemetery Road to Boneyard; and Boneyard to Maloit Park.

What’s next: Residents are encouraged to attend the open house Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. in Town Hall. It is a chance to voice concerns, learn more and see what the future of Minturn could hold. Town officials and Stolfus & Associates engineers will be there to answer any questions and engage in conversation about the concept. More open houses and one-on-one meetings will follow as the company continues to craft a final design, with intentions of submitting it in November.
Issue: Minturn Country Club extending liquor license premise.
Who they talked to: Town Clerk Jay Brunvand.
What they talked about: The Country Club is adding a year-round patio outside of its front door and requested extending its liquor license there. There is a license agreement between Minturn Country Club and Minturn Realty.
How they voted: Approved, 6-0.
What’s next: The Country Club will serve alcohol on its patio.
Issue: Crave Community Co. land swap.
Who they talked to: Armistead and Bidez, the two council members on the Battle Mountain subcommittee.
What they talked about: Bidez announced the land swap proposal is a “dead issue” as of now. He said that through the open house process and public meetings, a common idea was for Crave Community Co. to develop the land it currently owns at Battle Mountain. He said the council is looking to confirm that input and invites residents to come to the next Town Council meeting, June 15, and start this process with public input from the very beginning.
