Grand Avenue Grill

In a quaint house on Highway 6 in Eagle sits the Grand Avenue Grill. It has a homey feel to it, as if the owners were there personally cooking the food and seating the guests ” and they are. Chris and Mike Ryan put in a lot of hours at their restaurant and it shows. The service is personal, and so is the care that’s put into the food.

“We try to really be casual, with really good food,” Chris Ryan says.

A Western-themed decor, which Chris Ryan designed with her mother, adds to the restaurant’s charming atmosphere. The doors are propped open in the summertime, allowing a soft mountain breeze to flow through the dining rooms. Live music on the patio makes it one of Eagle’s most happening Friday night spots. Don’t forget to try a refreshing homemade cocktail like the pomegranate or pineapple margaritas.

Variety

A large menu features American dishes with personal touches. Appetizers cover a wide range of options; from chicken wings to truffle Parmesan French fries to fried calamari with cilantro ranch dipping sauce to blackened ahi tuna. There are tons of salads to choose from, including “big salads” and smaller dinner salads like the spinach with pecans and goat cheese. Pork green chile is on the menu daily ” get the bowl and not the cup, because you’ll want more.

Home cooking done right

Large selections of home-cooked entrees make it hard to choose from the menu. Country-fried steak with gravy and meatloaf stand out as the restaurant’s signature comfort foods. A variety of steaks, from a tender flatiron cut to sirloin to filet, have different sauces and preparations. Most entrees are offered with the choice of two sides from a list that includes spinach with bacon, creamed corn, wasabi mashed potatoes and crisp green beans. An herb-crusted salmon in a lemon butter sauce is a house favorite ” the waitress practically did a cartwheel when I ordered it. The crust is crisp, the breading is light and flavorful, and the salmon is cooked perfectly.
