Grand Junction man charged with negligent homicide in pregnant wife’s death
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — A man who investigators believe shot and killed his pregnant wife while he was trying to flee a gunman outside the couple’s car during a dispute in Grand Junction has been charged with criminally negligent homicide.
Investigators say 28-year-old Alexander Fedak was sitting in the driver’s seat next to 25-year-old Shandie Case, of Clifton, when a gunman emerged from a car the couple had been following Nov. 6.
The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel reports (https://goo.gl/gDqnUW ) Case, who was six months pregnant, was struck in the head. Investigators don’t believe that the man who emerged from the car with the rifle ever fired the weapon.
Booking documents do not indicate if Fedak has hired an attorney.
